June 2021: Filming a Second Book of Mormon Video Series
With much thanks to his Guatemalan heritage and ethnicity, Gustavo was cast to play multiple roles involving Lamanite characters for the Book of Mormon video series produced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The scenes portray Christ’s resurrected appearance to the Lamanites and Nephites among the temple ruins in ancient Bountiful.
The producers had asked Gustavo to grow his hair long to attain a more realistic, authentic look. So, for the past year, he (and Erica) have had to devise (and cope with) various hairstyles — including the infamous “man bun.” Nevertheless, he is having wonderful spiritual experiences during the filming process and plans to write and share some of his experiences on this page.
